Paul has worked in a variety of business development positions in the private health care sector for over 35 years, in not-for- profit and for-profit systems, in urban, suburban and rural locations.
He has worked in hospitals ranging from 25 beds to 1100 bed multi-facility systems, and with physicians, in solo and large multi-specialty practice. He also has extensive experience with companies that were among the early designers of hospital-based and free-standing outpatient care delivery centers.
He holds a Master of Health Care Systems from the University of Denver and a Ph.D. in Organizational Performance and Change from Colorado State University. Paul is an Assistant Professor on the faculty at Regis University’s Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions.
Amy is a seasoned marketing professional, providing strategic marketing campaigns and consulting services. She serves clients in the healthcare and commercial real estate industries, as well as women entrepreneurs, coaches, speakers and authors. She develops fully integrated digital marketing campaigns that are customized and designed to drive results and ROI. Services include content writing, strategic social media campaigns, promotional campaigns, brand development, competition analysis, market research, reporting and innovative implementation of marketing tactics.
Amy holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix in Global Management and a BS in Journalism from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Amy is a Colorado native and enjoys everything outdoors, including skiing, hiking, and camping.
Melissa has acquired over 16 years of healthcare experience in a variety of settings, and holds seven years in leadership positions for membership associations. Her previous employment included four years at the Colorado State Office of Rural Health (SORH) where her director position advanced from workforce, to outreach, business development and strategic partnerships. She facilitated rural hospitals’ community health needs assessments and strategic planning development. Additionally, Melissa spent six years as an executive overseeing long-term care services for 200 adults with developmental disabilities and two years acting as an Executive Director for independently incorporated dental safety net programs in 20 states who worked through a larger national organization. She holds experience successfully writing policy and lobbying in multiple states. This experience as a developed leader demonstrates her abilities to manage conflict and plan at organizational and tactical levels.
Melissa is the Principal of Vertical Strategies, an organization dedicated to increasing the capacity and strategic development of nonprofits, specifically in the healthcare sector. One of her strengths is to engage in long-term projects where nonprofits are launched and sustainability is established. In addition to her work as Principal, Melissa is an affiliate faculty at Regis University teaching seven courses, accompanied with curricula development. In 2016 she was awarded a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation three-year fellowship in the first cohort of their Culture of Health Leaders program.
Mike has managed physician groups since 1985. His health care career began in clinical research and cardiopulmonary diagnostics after completing his undergraduate degree in Biology/Physiology in the 1970s.
Mike graduated with an MBA in the early 1980s, and was a founding partner of Healthcare Management Systems, a practice management group on the west coast. Since arriving in Denver in 1991, he has held positions with HealthONE and Centura, and was Clinic Administrator for a primary care group from 1997 – 2003.
He earned his Doctorate in Business Administration/Health Services, and has been full time faculty at Regis University since 2001. Mike is currently Professor in the Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions at Regis University, and has attained the distinction of Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives.
Patricia Griffith has over 28 years experience in executive administration, office management and customer service. Originally from Portland, Oregon she worked in the international export/trade industry for 12 years before moving into an executive administrator position. With more than 16 years’ experience in this role she brings a broad base of experience to the HMRx team. Her experience includes support for corporate shareholders, office management and administrative support. Working with the HMRx team in different capacities over the last 8 years Patricia has proved her ability to manage multiple projects and client deadlines.
Jess is a detail oriented, highly organized, and driven accounting student with more than 12 years of administrative experience, 8 years of managerial experience, and over 15 years of customer service. Jess currently holds a bachelor’s degree in physical education with an emphasis in corporate fitness. The emphasis in corporate fitness has allowed her to focus her studies on the management and entrepreneurial aspects of health, fitness, and recreation. Jess has experience working with non-profits, government entities, and private businesses/corporations. Through her work in recreation management, Jess found her passion in accounting, which led her to pursue her second bachelor’s degree in accounting with the end goal of obtaining her CPA license. In her spare time, Jess loves to spend time doing outdoor activities with her son and volunteering.
Tarra Gerlach manages a team of professionals to provide the highest level of transactional and operational services. She has 13 years experience in medical management and 15 years experience in accounting and financial management. This includes the opportunity to act as the finance manager for hospital based physicians, including radiologists and anesthesiologists and as the practice administrator for an ophthalmology practice specializing in corneal surgery. Tarra has also owned and operated her own accounting firm specializing in QuickBooks consulting and bookkeeping/accounting support. In addition to bookkeeping, accounting and tax services, Tarra has facilitated strategic planning sessions, budgeting meetings and performed analysis on office efficiencies, joint ventures and potential practice purchases.
Tarra earned her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Nebraska and her Masters in Business with an emphasis in accounting from Regis University. She has served on the Colorado Medical Group Management Association as corporate liaison. She currently serves on the board of three non-profits. Tarra supports the Rocky Mountain Coal Mining Institute as Treasurer, as well as Secretary for the American Academy PTO.
